This specimen was lot 75282 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 1/4 Kopek (Polushka), 1798/7-EM. Ekaterinburg Mint. Paul I. NGC AU-55 Brown. Displaying lightly circulated surfaces, this magnanimous piece carries itself well as a representative of the type." This type was struck at Ekaterinburg, Annensk and Kolyvan 1797-1800. This is the most common date of a generally scarce type. The quarter kopek was commnly called the polushka.
