Russia 1773-SP 10 rubles Fr-129a
This specimen was lot 20494 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $5,040. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 10 Rubles, 1773-CNB. St. Petersburg Mint. Catherine II (the Great). PCGS EF-40 Gold Shield. Narrow portrait variety. The finest seen by PCGS for the portrait style, this example displays only honest, even wear throughout, along with great detail. For completeness, some minor deposits are noted in and around the legends on each side. From the Naples Bay Collection." This ten rubles, tho less rare than those of Elizabeth, is still plenty expensive. It is listed for 1766-76.
