This specimen was lot 75265 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 5 Kopeks, 1727-KA. Moscow Mint. Catherine I. NGC VF-30. A wholesome and problem-free circulated example of the type, well centered, with an almost charcoal toned patina in the fields." This one year type, struck at the Red Mint (Krasny Dvor) is scarce. It also comes with mintmark MД (naval mint, KM 165).
Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
