The second specimen was lot 72106 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[2] noted, "ROMANIA. 2 Bani, 1867-H. Heaton Mint. Carol I. NGC MS-65 Red Brown. Both dies used to strike this gorgeous Gem piece were aggressively polished, endowing the fields with a brilliant gleam that satisfactorily backdrops the detailed coat of arms and other devices. Surfaces are coppery-violet with streaks of golden mint red." The third specimen was lot 75253 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $384. So many were made that no more were struck for circulation until 1879.
