This specimen was lot 3719 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $176.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Reuss-Gera. Pfennig, 1761-LM. Heinrich XXX (1748-1802). NGC MS-64 BN. Well struck. Attractive glossy brown surfaces." We haven't added many German states minors to this encyclopedia (thousands exist) but we found this hound's head type irresistible. It was accompanied by a two pfennig (KM 66). Reuss-Gera lapsed in 1802.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: copper.
Catalog reference: KM-65.
