Sincona sale 76, lot 1243

This specimen was lot 1243 in Sincona sale 76 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 2,500 CHF (about US$3,035 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ITALY | Retegno. Antonio Tolomeo Trivulzio-Gallio, 1708-1767. 1/2 Tallero 1726, Retegno. Selten. Gutes vorzüglich. NGC AU55. Prachtvolle Erhaltung mit herrlicher Patina. (Italy, barony of Retegno, Antonio Tolomeo Trivulzio-Gallio, 1708-1767, half tallero of 1726, Retegno mint. Rare, Good extremely fine, Beautiful condition with magnificent patina.)"

This is only issue of this denomination from this insignificant barony in the duchy of Milan for the eighteenth century.
