Sincona sale 4, lot 4438

This specimen was lot 4438 in Sincona sale 4 (Zürich, October 2011) where it sold for 475 CHF (about US$632 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Regensburg, Stadt Konventionstaler 1780. Titel Joseph II. Stadtansicht. Rv. Geharnischtes, belorbeertes Brustbild des Kaisers nach rechts. Gutes vorzüglich. (City of Regensburg, convention thaler of 1780, in the name of Joseph II. Obverse: city view; reverse: laureate bust of the emperoro to right. Good very fine.)."

Like most thalers of Regensburg, this one year type is expensive.
