This specimen was lot 72296 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Santa Ana, CA, May 2017), where it sold for $446.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Quedlinburg. 1/8 Thaler, 1704-HCH. Anna Dorothea (1684-1704). PCGS MS-62. Commemorative on the death of Anna Dorothea. Struck from Ducat dies. Sharply struck with attractive toning." This eighth thaler is the sole minted for this locale in the eighteenth century and it was accompanied by a thaler, a quarter thaler, a ducat and a double ducat, all rare. The abbey was annexed by Prussia in 1803 during the mediatizations. The last coinage is dated 1759.
