Künker sale 400, lot 92

This specimen was lot 92 in Künker sale 400 (Berlin, February 2024), where it sold for €1,700 (about US$2,206 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. Reichstaler preuß. 1769, A, Berlin. In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung MS 63+ (4784972-004). Sehr selten in dieser Erhaltung. Sehr attraktives Exemplar mit herrlicher Patina, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. Exemplar der Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 331, Berlin 2020, Nr. 138. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, Prussian thaler of 1769, Berlin mint. Graded NGC MS63+. Very scarce in this quality, very attractive example with superb patina, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1764-74 at Berlin (shown here), Breslau, Königsberg, Cleve and Magdeburg. While many individual dates are rare, the type is common in circulated condition.
