This specimen was lot 32584 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), where it sold for $190.35. The catalog description[1] noted, "Prince Edward Island. Trade 1/2 Penny Token ND (1860) MS62 Brown NGC, Plough with hook variety. A choice example of this classic, yet simple token, wishing "Success to the Fisheries and Speed (to) the Plough". The only example of the type this far certified by NGC." The obverse of this token, unlisted in the SCWC, depicts a stockfish, i.e., a cod with the head removed, split open, salted and dried. Salt cod was the staple protein for centuries in Europe, North America and the Caribbean.
