Portugal 1920 2 centavos

In 1910, Portugal, having ousted her king, dropped the réis and adopted the escudo, divided into 100 centavos. This type was struck 1918-21; the 1918 and 1920 are common while the 1921 is rare. No two centavos were struck after 1921 and the five centavos was retired in 1927. The escudo was retired in 1999 when Portugal joined the euro.
