This specimen was lot 25325 in Heritage sale 3019 (Chicago, April 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Luiz I gold 2000 Reis 1865, MS63 NGC, fully brilliant and somewhat prooflike, very attractive. What appear to be hairlines in the right obverse field are actually die polishing lines." This type appeared after the conversion to decimal coinage in 1836. It was struck 1864-66 and is more common than the preceding (KM 500) and succeeding types (KM 518).

Specification: 3.547 g, 0.917 fine gold, .104 troy oz AGW, 20 mm diameter.
