Sincona sale 18, lot 3023

This specimen was lot 3023 in Sincona sale 18 (Zürich, May 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"Peca 1774. Lissabon. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (kingdom of Portugal, peça of 1774, Lisbon mint, very fine to extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1750-76 but is seldom seen compared to similar coins that were struck in Brazil.

Recorded mintage: 69,367.

Specification: 14.34 g, 0.917 fine gold, .423 troy oz AGW, 31.5 mm diameter; this specimen 14.36 g.
