This type was struck 1984-88 as the communist regime in Poland slowly deteriorated under foreign debt and internal unrest. All were made in Warsaw. The twenty zlotych had heretofore been reserved for commemoratives. The denomination was terminated in 1990 with the collapse of the regime.
