This type was struck 1934-39 to commemorate the founder of independent Poland, Josef Pilsudski. The design, with its thuggish portrait of the statesman, inspired the Hindenburg commemorative issued in Nazi Germany in the 1930's.

Recorded mintage: 908,000.

Specification: 22 g, 0.750 fine silver, .530 troy oz ASW, 33 mm diameter, designed by Stanislaw Ostrowski.
