Sincona sale 43, lot 3480

This specimen was lot 3480 in Sincona sale 43 (Zürich, October 2017), where it sold for 800 CHF (about US$955 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ITALY | Piacenza, Ranuccio I. Farnese, 1592-1622 2 Doppie 1615. Schön. NGC VF30. (duchy of Piacenza, Ranuccio Farnese, 1592-1622, double doppia of 1615, Fine.)"

As a doppia was a double ducat, a two doppie was four ducats. The SCWC mentions this coin under Piacenza, not Parma, and notes that it was issued 1599-1622.

Specification: 13.44 g, 0.917 fine gold.
