Philippines 1999 5000 piso

The specimen shown is a 5000 piso gold proof issued by the Philippines to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the Central Bank of the Philippines in 1999. The obverse shows the central bank building in Manila and the reverse shows the current and former seal of the bank, with the legend "LIMAMPUNG TAON NG PAGBABANGKO SENTRAL SA PILIPINAS" ("Fifty years of Central Banking of the Philippines"). This is one of the scarcer modern issues and is seldom seen, even at major coin shows. There is a companion silver 500 piso.
