The specimen shown is a 2000 piso gold proof issued by the Philippines to commemorate "Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation" in 1996. The obverse bust is of Fidel Ramos, who succeeded Corazon Aquino as President of the Philippines. This is one of the scarcer modern issues and is seldom seen, even at major coin shows.
Recorded mintage: 3,000.
Specification: 10 g, 0.500 fine gold, .160 troy oz AGW, reeded edge.
