SB824-47490r.jpg

This specimen was lot 47490 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2024), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "PHILIPPINES. Silver 50 Centavos Private Pattern, 1966. PCGS MS-63." While this specimen is clearly an unadopted pattern, it does not match the photo shown for KM Pn28, which shows an eight rayed sunburst instead of the national arms and the denomination spelled "LIMAMPUNG SENTIMOS" instead of "FIFTY CENTAVOS". We don't think this was actually made in 1966 as Marcos didn't promote his personality cult until he declared martial law in 1972.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver.

Catalog reference: KM-Pn28.
