This specimen was lot 75258 in Stack's Bowers May 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $300. The catalog description[1] noted, "PHILIPPINES. Quarto, 1799-M F. Manila Mint. Charles IV. PCGS Genuine--Environmental Damage, Good Details." The Manila mint, little better than a smithy prior to the 1860's, struck a series of copper issues in the 1820's and 1830's. They are not particularly rare but very difficult to find in collectible condition being crudely made and harshly used. This type is listed for 1798-1800 and 1805-07 and was accompanied by an octavo.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 3.15 g, copper.
