Künker sale 293, lot 1105

This specimen was lot 1105 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €3,200 (about US$4,313 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"PFALZ, KURFÜRSTENTUM, Karl Philipp, 1716-1742. Reichstaler 1740, Mannheim, auf das Vikariat. Gemeinschaftsprägung mit Karl Albert von Bayern. R Attraktives Exemplar mit feiner Tönung, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Germany, electorate of the palatinate, Charles Philip, 1716-42, thaler of 1740, Mannheim mint, on his vicariat. Joint issue with Charles Albert of Bavaria. Scarce, attractive example with fine toning, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

A quarter thaler and half thaler were also issued on this occasion.
