This specimen was lot 24751 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $2,820. The catalog description[1] noted, "Pfalz-Electoral. Karl Ludwig Taler 1657, MS62 NGC, silvery gray patina, Vicariat issue with a crowned lion above three coats of arms. Very rare type in mint state." Thalers from Pfalz are generally scarce and this one-year type is no exception.
