This specimen was lot 4544 in Goldberg sale 65 (Los Angeles, September 2011), where it sold for $575. The catalog description[1] noted, "Peru. 20 Soles, 1959. Liberty seated. Scarce this nice. NGC graded MS-67." This denomination, struck 1950-69, was theoretically a circulating coin but actually was a bullion piece like her sisters, the gold five, ten, fifty and hundred soles.
Recorded mintage: 12,000.
