Peru 1952 20 centavos

The twenty centavos denomination was originally occupied by the silver quinto, struck 1888-1917. It was superseded by a copper-nickel coin in 1918, which was replaced by a brass type in 1942 when World War Two drove up the price of nickel. This sub-type, issued 1951-65, features a thinner planchet and a numeric date. All dates are available tho the 1954 is the scarcest date. It is accompanied by brass five and ten centavos.

Specification: 3.8 g, brass, 23 mm diameter.
