This type of copper 1 centavo was issued from 1875-1878 in Peru. It replaced the thicker copper-nickel type that was issued in 1863 and 1864. It is interesting that this compositional change reflects an identical change in the US cent in the same time frame.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: copper.

Catalog reference: KM 187.1a.
