This specimen was lot 1361 in Sedwick Auction 36 (Winter Park, FL, November 2024), where it sold for $900. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU, Lima, 2 reales, 1850 MB, no tassel on cap, NGC MS 63, ex-O'Brien. Very choice luster with incipient toning at rims, light hairlines on Liberty side but overall a premium example (tassel variety not noted on label or in KM). Pedigreed to the John O'Brien Collection (stated on label), with his tag." This type was struck in Lima 1840-51 and 1854-56 and this is a common date. Assayer MB operated 1838-58.
