This specimen was lot 1391 in Sedwick Auction 36 (Winter Park, FL, November 2024), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU, Lima, ¼ real, 1836/5, NGC MS 62, finest known in NGC census, ex-Flatt, ex-O'Brien. Broad flan with nearly complete rims (albeit still slightly crude, as made), lightly rainbow toned over muted luster, very scarce overdate (not 100% certain). Pedigreed to the H.P. Flatt Collection and to the John O'Brien Collection (both stated on label), with his tag." This type was struck at Lima 1826-56. The date is listed in the SCWC as somewhat scarce along with an 1836/5 overdate.
