This specimen was lot 1347 in Stack's Bowers ANA auction (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $1,997.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU. 8 Escudos, 1797-IJ. Charles IV (1788-1808). NGC AU-58." This coin was minted 1792-1808 and is the most common Peruvian colonial eight escudos. Assayer JI also exists for 1797.
