This specimen was lot 752 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 39 (Winter Park, FL, May 2026), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU, Lima, cob 1 real, 1727 M, ex-Ugaz. Bold date and assayer within pillars, good full cross, nice but porous VF with slightly crude edge (as made), contrasting toning. Pedigreed to the Jorge Ugaz Collection." This type was struck 1701-28 for the Bourbon king Philip V, with an interruption in 1725 for the short reign of his son Luis I. Assayer Melgarejo ("M") stamped his coins 1709-27. In 1728, the cobs were debased from 0.931 fine to 0.917 fine silver.
