This specimen was lot 740 in Sincona sale 69 (Zürich, May 2021), where it sold for 4,400 CHF (about US$5,840 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ITALIEN, KIRCHENSTAAT. Pius VI. 1775-1799. 4 Doppie 1786 / Anno XII, Bologna. Selten. Fast vorzüglich. (Papal States, Pius VI, 1775-99, quadruple doppie of 1786, year XII, Bologna mint. Rare, About extremely fine.)"
This denomination was struck in 1786 and 1787 only, the 1787 being a different type (KM 318).
