Stack's Bowers 2024 NYINC sale, lot 57371

This specimen was lot 57371 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. Papal (States of the Church). Grosso, 1750 Year XII. Benedict XIV. PCGS MS-62. Holy Year issue." The grosso was five baiocchi or one twentieth of a scudo. This type was struck for the Holy Year proclaimed in 1750. It also comes with regnal year XI.
