Papal States 1593-GT testone
This specimen was lot 1346 in Künker sale 403 (Osnabrück, March 2024), where it sold for €200 (about US$263 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"PAPST CLEMENS VIII., 1592-1605. Die Münzstätte Rom. Testone 1593, Rom. Mit Münzzeichen GT in dreigeteiltem Herz mit Kreuz (Guglielmo Tronci) auf der Vorderseite. Hübsche Patina, Bearbeitungsspuren im Feld der Rückseite, sehr schön. (Papal States, Clement VIII, 1592-1605, testone of 1593, Rome mint, with privy mark GT in a three-part heart with a cross (Guglielmo Tronci) on the front. Handsome toning, tooling in the reverse fields, very fine.)"
