Künker sale 335, lot 5119

This specimen was lot 5119 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €420 (about US$550 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ITALIEN, KIRCHENSTAAT/VATIKAN Paul IV. 1555-1559. Testone o. J. Ancona. Hübsche Patina, fast vorzüglich. (Italy, Papal States, Paul V, 1555-59, undated testone, Ancona mint. Handsome patina, about extremely fine.)"

Berman notes thats the Ancona mint issued a giulio and this testone during Paul's reign. The Rome mint also issued testone (Ber-1037, -1038, Ber-1039).

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 9.92 g, 0.920 fine silver, this specimen 9.51 g.
