This type was struck 1966-72 and 1993. It matches the module of the United States billon half dollar of 1965-70 in every respect. It superseded a 90% silver half balboa.
Recorded mintage: 300,000 + 20,000 proofs.
Specification: 11.50 g, 0.400 fine silver, 30.6 mm diameter.
