Oldenburg (1614-19) schilling KM-27
This specimen was lot 11255 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Copenhagen, June 2026), where it sold for €170.80 (about US$197). The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Oldenburg. Schilling, ND (1614-19). Jever Mint. Anton Günther. NGC MS-62. Attractive uncirculated example with lustrous surfaces. Nicely struck example of this variation bearing emperor Matthias' name and with a royal orb on the eagle. From the L.E. Bruun Collection." This undated type was struck along with a half schilling (KM 20) and a klippe schilling (KM 28). We aren't sure of its face value but in most of Germany, one thaler was 32 schilling. Anton Günther, count of Oldenburg 1603-67, was also lord of Jever, where this coin was struck. After his death, Jever passed to the dukes of Anhalt-Zerbst and Oldenburg to the kings of Denmark.
