This specimen was lot 30083 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $9,400. The catalog description[1] noted, "Stunning One-Year Type Nurnberg. Free Imperial City gold Ducat 1806-KR, MS64 Deep Prooflike NGC. A stunning example of this rare one-year type. The fields are fully mirrored, the strike bold, and the overall appearance amazing for a gold coin of this era. The obverse exhibits a wonderful view of the city of Nurnberg, and the reverse has the Pascal Lamb, as often seen on earlier coins of Nurnberg." This rare type, minted in the last years of Nurnberger independence, is accompanied by equally rare two and three ducats.
