This specimen was lot 40131 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $776. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Nuremberg. Goldgulden, 1616. NGC AU Details--Mount Removed." This type is listed in the SCWC as a goldgulden. We wish we knew the weight; the goldgulden was slightly lighter than the ducat.
