This specimen was lot 13143 in Ponterio sale 177 (Chicago, August 2013), where it sold for $2,585. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Nurnberg. 60 Kreuzer, 1615. NGC MS-63. Attractive old cabinet tone." This 60 kreuzer, struck 1613-19, is too small to qualify as a thaler and traded for a gulden (two-thirds thaler). The city began striking gulden in 1638.
