This specimen was lot 2457 in Künker sale 439 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €1,700 (about US$2,339 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"NÜRNBERG, STADT Goldgulden 1515. GOLD. R Vorzüglich. (city of Nuremberg, goldgulden of 1515. Rare, extremely fine.)"
This type commenced production about 1429 and was struck undated for several decades. Those produced 1506-47 have dates. The long production run makes this type the most common Nurnberger gold coin prior to the 1640's. This subtype was struck 1506-09, 1513-16.
