This specimen was lot 3164 in Sincona sale 39 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 425 CHF (about US$510 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Nurnberg, Stadt, Halbtaler 1633. Mit Chronogramm. Stadtansicht von Südosten. Sehr schön. Üblicher Stempelfehler. (Germany, city of Nuremberg, half thaler of 1633, date in chronogram, Very fine. Usual die fault.)"
This specimen shows the fad for "chronograms," where the date (in Roman numerals) was buried in the obverse legend. The type is rather scarce.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: silver, this specimen 14.06 g.
Catalog reference: Kellner 283. Slg. Erlanger 455, KM 129.
