This specimen was lot 42625 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "An Exceptionally Rare Proof Striking. SWEDEN. 20 Kronor, 1877. Kongsberg Mint. Oscar II. PCGS PROOF-64 Cameo. Featuring a tremendous cameo nature, this specimen no doubt stands as a great RARITY given its proof designation. Indeed, just one other for the date has been seen in proof at PCGS, attesting to the important chance this stunner provides the advanced collector of Swedish issues or world gold more broadly." This coin is not from Sweden but Norway, one of a type struck there 1876-79, 1883, 1886 and 1902. In 1907, Norway obtained a divorce from Sweden and became an independent kingdom under a Danish prince.

Specification: 8.96 g, 0.900 fine gold, 23 mm diameter, reeded edge.
