Norway 1874 20 kroner
This specimen was lot 76068 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for $840. The catalog description[1] noted, "NORWAY. 20 Kroner, 1874. Kongsberg Mint. Oskar II. PCGS MS-63. A choice and lustrous example, with a few notable marks to the right of the bust." This type was struck 1874-75. The subsequent issue dropped the dual denomination "20 KRONOR/5 SP[eciedaler]". In 1907, Norway obtained a divorce from Sweden and became an independent kingdom under a Danish prince. Even before passing under Swedish rule in 1814, Norway had enjoyed a separate coinage from Denmark.
