This specimen was lot 5922 in Goldberg sale 72 (Los Angeles, February 2013), where it sold for $1,495. The catalog description[2] noted, "Norway. 1 Specie Daler, 1865. Charles XV, 1859-1872. Re-toned. NGC graded Very Fine, Details (Excessive Surface Hairlines)." This type, recorded for 1864-69, is now rare. It was struck to the Danish standard (Dav-75) rather than the larger Swedish riksdaler (Dav-356).

Recorded mintage: 130,000.

Specification: 28.89 g, 0.875 fine silver, .812 troy oz ASW.
