This specimen was lot 75523 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "NORWAY. 2 Skilling Courant, 1810. Kongsberg Mint. Frederik VI. NGC MS-63 Brown. Legend reverse. A fresh survivor with miraculously clean surfaces and a rather satisfactory degree of brilliance to the fields. Boldly struck design elements yield no softness, further enhancing appeal." This type was struck 1810-11 and has a modest catalog value. The Danes were forced to surrender Norway to Sweden in 1814.
