This specimen was lot 76067 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "NORWAY. 24 Skilling, 1740-TL. Kongsberg Mint. Christian VI. PCGS AU-58." This type was struck 1735-46 and is common in worn condition. This coin was worth one quarter specie daler. The initials TL stand for Gruls Andersen Lyng, mintmaster at Kongsberg 1737-69. Norway would be ruled by Denmark until 1814.
