This specimen was lot 76066 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "NORWAY. 8 Skilling (1/2 Mark), 1730-NBF. Kongsberg Mint. Frederik IV. PCGS AU-55." This type was struck 1727-30 for Frederick IV. It is fairly common. Eight skilling were struck 1730-34 for his successor Christian VI although the SCWC does not separate the two types. The initials NBF stand for Nicolai Bernhard Fuchs, mintmaster at Kongsberg 1729-1736. Norway would be ruled by Denmark until 1814.
