This specimen was lot 425 in Schulman auction 379 (Amsterdam, June 2024), where it sold for €650 (about US$835 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Norway - Krone 1680, Silver, CHRISTIAN V 1670-1699 Crowned monogram. Rev. crowned coat of arms. NGC AU53." This coin is a little small to be classed as a thaler (an honor more properly belonging to the contemporary six mark or specie daler), but it has a Davenport number so we will include it. It was struck 1669-80 and is somewhat available. It was struck 1669-80. Norway passed from Danish to Swedish rule in 1814.
