from the Stack's Bowers February 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 11090

This specimen was lot 11090 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €2,400 (about US$2,502). The catalog description^[1] noted, "NORWAY. Krone, 1676-PG. Christiania mint. Christian V. NGC AU Details-Obverse Scratched, Cleaned. Rare date with lovely toning. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This type was struck 1670-80. While it is not particularly common, it is often collected in lieu of the much rarer specie dalers. One specie daler was six mark or 96 skilling.

Specification: 22.27 g, 0.672 fine silver, 39.4 mm diameter, this specimen 5.33 g.
