from the Stack's Bowers February 2025 Collectors Choice sale, lot 11084

This specimen was lot 11084 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €2,880 (about US$3,002). The catalog description^[1] noted, "NORWAY. 2 Mark, 1672. Christiania mint. Christian V. NGC EF Details--Obverse Graffiti. Graffiti aside, a very handsome specimen with Z for 2 in date. From the L. E. Bruun Collection. Ex: Johan G. Guildal Collection. (Private Sale-1918)." This type was struck 1672-74 but all dates are rare. One specie daler was six mark or 96 skilling.
