Norway 1670 skilling KM-91
This specimen was lot 11081 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "NORWAY. Skilling, 1670. Christiania mint. Christian V. NGC Unc Details--Bent. Rare variation with DAN NOR in reverse legend From the L. E. Bruun Collection." The mintage totals for skillings in 1670 include 55,000 for Frederick III (KM 29), 31,000 of KM 90 (obverse legend "CHRISTIAN·5·D·G·DAN ✿") and KM 91 (obverse legend "CHRISTIAN·5·D·G·REX·", shown here). This style was struck 1670 only. One specie daler was six mark or 96 skilling.
